Callaway debuts Tour-inspired Apex UW

Callaway’s Apex UW is a high-performance Utility Wood that Tour players love. This unique design combines the best features of higher lofted fairway woods, the best features of hybrids, and a more neutral ball flight.

Using direct feedback from world-class pros like Phil Mickelson, Callaway created a multi-purpose club that better players can rely on from the tee, fairway, or rough.

“The reason why I like it is the centre of gravity is more forward, or plays like an iron, so I don’t get the jumpers out of the first cut and then the big spin ones out of a tight lie,” said Mickelson ahead of this week’s Constellation Furyk & Friends tournament.

“And the relief on the back sole allows me to open the face and keep the face open through impact in the rough on the chop rough shot, as opposed to having the back of the sole close the face through impact. It allows me keep the face open and have some loft so I can get it out of thicker, longer, heavier rough a lot easier.”

With its pedigree, ball speed is a given for the Apex UW and distance is just one of the performance benefits of this versatile Utility Wood.

The neutral CG configuration of the Apex UW promotes higher launch and steeper landing angles for better stopping power, along with optimised spin rates, all while reducing unwanted draw bias. The clean, compact shape creates workability for better shot-making with enhanced control.

Tour Pros and better players have been asking for a new “go-to” club that’s easy to hit, easy to control, consistently long, and a reliable option for a variety of shots and the Apex UW is set to deliver on that promise.

Callaway’s Apex UW will be available locally from Thursday, 14 October 2021 and will be priced at AUD$499.99 (NZD$589.99).
