Aussie pro lands dream job at St Andrews
It’s probably the dream job for any golf professional that doesn’t see himself conquering one of the major golf tours of the world.
And Aussie professional Luca Zanin admits he didn’t really expect to land a job at St Andrews when he was scrolling through a UK PGA website.

Zanin spotted a position at the St Andrews Links Golf Academy, fired in an application and even surprised himself when he edged out about 300 applicants to land the position.
Zanin completed a traineeship under Craig Funch at The National GC in Victoria after he had graduated from the PGA’s IGI.
“To be honest I didn’t really expect to get the job so I was pretty stoked when I found out I did,” he said.
“It’s just over the European summer and I’ll be back at The National on October 1.
“It should be a great experience.”
The St Andrews Golf Academy, located beside the 15th fairway at The Old Course, is one of the busiest in the world during the summer months, attracting golfers from all over the world.
“You get everything from people on their dream holiday just wanting to improve their game to people who are playing the Old Course the next day and just not wanting to embarrass themselves too much,” Zanin said.
“I’m looking forward to working with the teachers and also meeting what will definitely be a diverse range of students.”
