State wide comp launches SA Golf Month

To celebrate the biggest ever month on the Australian golfing calendar, Golf SA are encouraging all players to hit the fairways this November as part of SA Golf Month.

To celebrate SA Golf Month, Golf SA in association with Little Heroes Foundation, is proud to announce SA’s first state-wide and all inclusive golf competition.

For club members, every competition round played throughout November (regardless of format) automatically gives players the chance to qualify for the exclusive 2012 Little Heroes Foundation Gala Golf Day.

The $20 tournament registration fee assists Little Heroes Foundation for Children Surviving Cancer and Serious Illness.

Golf SA CEO Chris Luz-Raymond said the organisation was delighted to be working with the Foundation to create the unique virtual competition format.

“Throughout November, we are expecting a surge in golf participation as a result of the momentum generated by the Australian Open and the President’s Cup,” said Luz-Raymond.

“We felt that this was an ideal opportunity to introduce a new virtual competition to the South Australian golfing market, while of course supporting an established charitable cause.

“We hope to see as many players as possible get on board with the competition, not only in support of Little Heroes Foundation, but also in support of all affiliated club facilities around the state,” he said.

The Little Heroes Golf Competition is one of a number of industry initiatives set to be rolled out over the next few weeks, which will include the launch of the Junior Golf SA website portal and the One Golf membership and competition management website portal for small to medium sized affiliated clubs.

Golf SA’s popular social media platforms will be heavily utilised throughout the SA Golf Month promotional campaign, with keen photographers having the opportunity to participate in the ‘Putting off Course’ photo competition hosted on the organisation’s Facebook page.

SA Golf Month kicks off on Saturday 29 October with the inaugural South Australian Golf Industry Awards Night held at the Adelaide Oval.

The event is jointly hosted by Golf SA, PGA of Australia, Australian golf Course Superintendents Association and Golf Management Australia.
