Clementson fires course record 61
Rookie professional Ben Clementson is on track for a stellar year on Tour if his recent efforts on the course are any indication.
Playing in the member’s competition at his home club at St Michael’s in Sydney, Clementson ripped apart the 5,886 metre White course layout with a 11-under-par 61 for a new course record.

With six birdies and a bogey on the opening nine, Clementson went out in 31 and came home with five birdies and a six-under 30 for a massive 47 scratch points.
Clementson recently finished 25th on the PGA Tour of Australasia Q-School Final Stage to receive full status and category 11, which should see him in the field for most PGA Tour of Australasia tournaments.
The former plus-4 marker’s first professional event is the $100,000 Victorian PGA Championship starting 6th February at the Heritage Golf & Country Club – St John Course & Henley Course, Melbourne where David McKenzie is the defending champion.
As an amateur, Clementson won the 2012 NSW Cup, was a member of the winning NSW State team at the 2012 Interstate Series and was instrumental in St Michael’s three Sydney Major Division 1 Pennant flag titles in 2010,11& 13.
