Family comes first for Lee Westwood
Make no mistake about it…family comes first with Lee Westwood.
Yet the English star admits he has also found it difficult to concentrate on his golf following a much-publicised divorce from his wife Laurae last year.

Now the 42-year-old is hoping a move back to live in the UK to be near his children will result in a return to form for his golf game as well.
Westwood now admits he found it almost impossible to concentrate on golf during the drama of the divorce and the separation from his two children.
“So I understand what happened in terms of my results last year,” said Westwood, whose world ranking slumped from 26 to 50 at one stage and was down to 52 at last week’s Dubai Desert Classic.
“I’m now back living in the U.K. permanently and trying to factor in when I see my kids and which events I play around that.”
“I just want to get some consistency back in my game and start to enjoy golf again and being able to concentrate on what I’m trying to do.”
Westwood moved with his family to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida in 2013 in the hope that living in a warmer climate would revitalise his golf game.
Things obviously didn’t work out as planned and Westwood has not played in the US since last year’s The Barclays Championship and has indicated he would now focus on the European Tour.
He has not won on the European Tour since the 2014 Malaysian Open but continues to strive for that first major championship and says age is not a problem.
“In our sport, as long as you keep yourself in shape, you can play good golf for as long as you want,” he said.
“I haven’t lost the appetite or the competitiveness.”
