Johnson, Kim and Langer named GWAA Players Of The Year
Dustin Johnson, Sei Young Kim and Bernhard Langer have been honoured by the Golf Writers Association of America after being named 2020 Players Of The Year.
Despite the pandemic-riddled season, Johnson enjoyed a superlative year with four PGA Tour titles, including his first-ever Masters win. It seems the decision was an easy one with close to 94% of GWAA members voting for the World No.1.

“It’s a great honour to again be voted as the Golf Writers Association Player of the Year,’’ said Johnson, who also won the title in 2016 following his breakthrough US Open win.
“I appreciate my many friends in the media and their recognition of my performance. This means a lot to me.”
South Korean Sei Young Kim won her first GWAA gong with just under 70% of the vote.
The World No.2 won her first major title at the PGA Championship followed by victory at the Pelican Women’s Championship and two narrow misses at the LPGA Tour Championship, which she won in 2019, and the Lotte Cantata Ladies Open.
63-year-old Berhard Langer clinched the Seniors title for the sixth time continuing what has been a stellar bookend to his golfing career.
The German phenom had one Champions Tour win and 12 top-10 finishes from 15 starts edging out Ernie Els and Kevin Sutherland with 10 each.
“It is a great honour and wonderful recognition to have been named the GWAA Senior Player of the Year 2020,’’ said Langer.
“I am thrilled to receive this special reward again.”
