Leishman family expecting third child this week

Marc Leishman’s top five finish in Sunday’s Quicken Loans National is not the only good news for the Victorian this month.

Just two years after being given a five percent chance of survival due to a bout of acute respiratory distress syndrome, Marc Leishman’s wife Audrey is about to give birth to their third child and first daughter.

“Hopefully she will hold out until next week and we can finish this tournament and go home and be a dad for a couple weeks,” said the 33-year-old.

It has been a long road to recovery for Audrey as she bravely fought through her respiratory issues for close to 18 months before being given the all-clear by doctors.

Just weeks after the good news, she fell pregnant.

“It’s huge,” Leishman said. “Obviously when she was going through all that stuff we were just hoping she would survive and she survived, and we were hoping she would get somewhere back to full strength and she’s done that.”

“Now got a baby in her belly and it’s ready to come next week. Yeah, pretty exciting time for the Leishmans.”
