World No. 1 Day earns a staggering $3000 per shot
And you thought you did it tough to win your $5 lottery ticket in your weekend round of golf. Or your $1 for a sand-save from a bunker on the 12th!
Queensland star Jason Day comes from a different world, make that galaxy…he is earning an incredible $12,739 for each hole he plays at the moment.

And his run of success is making him one of the most special golfers we have seen in the past decade or two.
You could even say he’s Tiger Woods-ish!
At least that’s how fellow Queenslander Adam Scott described Day’s phenomenal run of success, joining former Australian great Jim Ferrier as the only Aussie to win five times in a US season.
Day has also become only the seventh Australian to win at least 10 US PGA Tour events and the fifth to win 10 times before turning 29.
The other four players, incidentally, were Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson and David Duval.
He’s still only 28 but Jason Day does look to have the world at his feet and the world No 1 is currently earning a staggering $229,296 for each round of competitive golf that he plays.
He’s already banked more than seven and a half million dollars from the 10 events he played this season…and we have three more major championships still to be decided.
Anyone want to back someone to beat him in any of those?
He’s won three big events this calendar year, the World Golf Championships-Dell Match Play, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Tournament Players Championship.
With so much more of the season still to be decided, there’s no telling how much he’ll add to the bank balance before the season – and the year is out.
At the moment it works out to be a little over $3000 per shot.
