“On Friday I was in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL for a photoshoot and a commercial appearance. After a typical morning workout, my arm started to feel like it was swelling. At the advice of my doctor, I went to the Emergency Room as a precaution. I was diagnosed with a blood clot,” tweeted the 23-year-old.

“I am currently at home getting treatment to eliminate further risks. I will communicate my status as and when there is more information.”

“In the meantime, I want to thank everyone for their support and ask for privacy for all our family during this time. I hope to be back soon! Thank you.”

Given the news, Korda will be thankful she decided to skip the current LPGA ‘Asian’ swing through Singapore and Thailand.

Korda is expected to make her return to tournament golf at the JTBC Classic on March 24th, which will mark her first outing on the LPGA Tour since early February.

Korda is a 7-time winner on the LPGA Tour, including four tournament titles last year, which saw her move into the number one spot on the Rolex Rankings before eventually falling behind South Korea’s Jin Young Ko earlier this season.
