Adam Scott tests positive for COVID-19

With just three weeks to go before the 2020 Masters gets underway, 2013 champion Adam Scott has tested positive to COVID-19.

The former World No.1 made the announcement overnight and pulled out of tomorrow’s ZOZO Championship, which would have marked Scott’s first tournament back on Tour since the US Open in September.

“While it’s difficult news to receive – as I really looked forward to playing this week – my focus now is on recovery for the final stretch of the fall,” said the world number 15

Scott will be replaced by first alternate Jim Herman, who won the Wyndham Championship in August.

The Queenslander joins an alarmingly longer list of sports stars who have succumbed to the virus including golfers Dustin Johnson and Tony Finau.
