Aussie summer to feature new invitation-only event
We’ve seen many tournaments come and go over the years, most notably the Australian Masters and even the Heineken Classic, so any news of a fresh tournament on our summer schedule is welcome.
The Cathedral Invitational will be staged on the Monday and Tuesday (Dec 5th & 6th) following the Australian Open at the privately owned Cathedral Lodge & Golf Club in country Victoria, which sits at No.14 on the Australian Golf Digest rankings.

As its name suggests, the new event will be by invitation only and will include both male and female players in a concept similar to that pioneered by the Vic Open.
“The announcement of The Cathedral Invitational is the next step in our journey to become one of the world’s great member and event destinations,” said course owner David Evans.
“This year is just the beginning. It is an incredibly exciting time in Australian Golf right now, with the success of our Female and Male players on the world stage and part of growing The Cathedral Invitational is to provide another vehicle to showcase their amazing talents on home shores.”
The 36-hole format will only be open to the public on day two with tickets available to purchase from 1st October 2022 at www.cathedralinvitational.com
TV coverage will be available via Fox Sports and Kayo.
