Bland wins Tusker Vanuatu Open
South Australia’s Adam Bland has won the 2013 Tusker Vanuatu Open by one stroke from Neil Sarkies at the Port Vila Golf and Country Club on Sunday.
Despite a final round two-over 74, Bland was able to hold off Sarkies, who also stumbled on the final day with a 1-over 73.

“I really opened the door at the end and Neil came back late to make it very close” said Bland.
“It was such an up and down day for us both and I think we both struggled to get anything going so In the end I was just happy to hold on for the win” he added.
The Vanuatu Open was Bland’s first major Australian PGA title since his Western Australian PGA Championship victory in 2005.
Bland spent from 2009-2011 on the Nationwide Tour with his best finish an outright second at the Mexico Open in 2009.
New Zealand’s Kieran Muir took outright third place, seven shots behind Bland.
Defending champion, Brad McIntosh, who admitted this week to not having played much tournament golf in recent times, faded away in the final round with a seven-over 79 leaving him in outright 11th place and and thirteen strokes adrift of Bland.
The next stop on the PGA Tour is the $130,000 South Pacific Open Championship, which kicks off in Noumea on Wednesday.
