Bookies add Woods to list of Masters favourites
He might not have hit top gear just yet…but it hasn’t fooled the bookmakers.
The US Masters might still be more than two weeks away, yet, amazingly, Tiger Woods has been installed as one of the favourites for the US Masters.

Rory McIlroy’s stunning win in the Arnold Palmer Invitational may change that thinking but Woods is beginning to look very dangerous as he prepares to head for his favourite course and attempt to win his fifth Green Jacket.
The 42-year-old, in his comeback from back fusion surgery, impressed in Miami a few weeks ago before sending the Internet into a frenzy when he finished second at Tampa Bay.
He then made a brief charge at the Arnold Palmer as well but as yet has been unable to hole a few putts that matter and sustain that charge. He eventually finished eight shots behind McIlroy in equal fifth place at Bay Hill.
“The atmosphere we’ve been able to play in front of since I’ve come back has been absolutely incredible,” said Woods.
“It feels great the people are so supportive. It has been great atmosphere overall since I’ve come back and started playing again.”
Yet bookmakers around the world are onto Tiger’s form resurgence, slashing his Masters odds for the ‘umpteenth time’ in the past month, now with some having him on the same line as world No.1 Dustin Johnson and No.2 Justin Thomas as top picks.
Woods did take a moment to dampen those expectations, reminding media and fans that he was just two months into his return from major surgery.
“You guys are asking different questions from when I first came back and it wasn’t that long ago, it was two months ago and the narrative has completely flipped,” Woods said.
“I enjoy just playing again, playing feels good.”
