Brad Kennedy 3rd at Japan’s KBC Augusta
The Japan Golf Tour resumed after close to a month’s hiatus last week with Yuta Ikeda taking out the KBC Augusta event by a whopping five strokes.
29-year old Ikeda had missed the cut in his last two starts, including The Open Championship at St Andrews, but the break clearly served him well as he completed the tournament at 20-under 268, five clear of compatriot Koumei Oda on 15-under.

Ikeda earned his 13th victory on the Japan Golf Tour and his first since last year’s Japan Open.
With this win, Ikeda extended a streak of at least one victory per year on the Japan Golf Tour dating back to the 2009 season when he claimed four titles – including this event.
Although winless this year in Japan, 41-year old Kennedy’s 4th top-three finish of the season lifted him to third position on the Money List with over AU$427,000 from ten events.
WA’s Scott Strange finished tied for 24th at 9-under, Adam Bland tied for 35th at 7-under while Brendan Jones (T54) and Matthew Guyatt (T65) were the remaining Australians in the field to make the cut.
The Japan Golf Tour moves on this week to the shadows of Mount Fuji where Hiroshi Iwata will defend his Fujisankei Classic title from September 3-6.
