Chalmers, Ogilvy, Norman return to Coolum
Former champions Greg Chalmers (2011), Geoff Ogilvy (2008), and Greg Norman (1984, 1985) have confirmed their participation in the upcoming Australian PGA Championship, from 13 – 16 December at Palmer Coolum Resort.
Defending champion Chalmers is one of many competitors looking forward to returning to the popular Sunshine Coast resort for the final event on both the PGA Tour of Australasia and OneAsia Tour calendars.

Last year, the 38-year-old West Australian prevailed over Marcus Fraser and four-time champion Robert Allenby in sudden death to win his second consecutive tournament, following his previous victory at the Emirates Australian Open.
Chalmers’ victory was all the more sweet for the quality of the field he conquered, with representatives from the previous week’s Presidents Cup teams – including Bubba Watson, Adam Scott, Aaron Baddeley, Jason Day, Y.E. Yang, K.T. Kim, Ogilvy and Allenby – in the field, alongside reigning Open Champion Darren Clarke, Rickie Fowler and Norman.
“Last year was such a rush. To win two of our country’s biggest titles in a season was an extremely satisfying achievement,” said Chalmers.
“There aren’t many better places to play golf and bring the family on Tour than Coolum.” Crowd favourite and Hall of Famer Norman says he is again looking forward to returning to play in his home state.
“Queensland is home to some wonderful golf courses, and it’s always great to get back to Coolum and catch up with friends and family. It should be another great tournament,” Norman said.
Tickets for the $1.5 million event are now on sale, with children 16 years and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
