Experience Chambers Bay with Team Titleist
Home to the 2015 U.S. Open, Chambers Bay Golf Course is one of the many breathtaking landscapes that comprise Pierce County, Washington.
Located just south of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, in the shadow of Mount Raineer, this young links course was carved out of an old gravel pit overlooking the Puget Sound.
In May, several local Team Titleist members were invited to play the course shortly before it closed to the public in preparation for its first major. With the U.S. Open just around the corner, we invited a group of local Team Titleist members to join us for a round at Chambers Bay before the last of the championship preparations began in their backyard.
As we got to know this passionate group of golfers, we learned more about what makes this community so unique and so special.
“I think one of the big things that makes Northwest golfers unique is that our courses are open year round. You get all four seasons,” said local Team Titleist member David Tarabochia.
“If you can play well here, you can play well anywhere.”
And we learned that the love of the game is always on display among this dedicated group who call Pierce County home.
“You hit that pure shot and the ball just comes off perfect and it does what you want. It just reminds you of why you do it,” shared David Tran.
Amid the challenge of Chambers Bay’s windswept fairways, greens and fescue, new bonds were formed.
So join us for a walk along the shores of the Puget Sound and get a feel for the local golf scene as Mount Rainier looks over our national championship.
This experience certainly has us ready for the U.S. Open, how about you?
