Fast finish earns Armstrong Players Amateur top-10
Josh Armstrong has finished the best of a large Australian field at the Players Amateur at Berkeley Hall Club in South Carolina.
Armstrong, who turned 19 just a few weeks ago, made up for a poor third round of 73 with a tidy 6-under 65 to move 15 places up the leaderboard and into a share of 9th place at 8-under.

“I hadn’t had many birdies all week, so I stayed patient, and it all came together today,” said Armstrong following his final round.
“It would be good [to qualify for the US Amateur], but I’m just trying to enjoy myself, that’s the focus. I know the results will come, I just have to stay positive,” he said.
Blake Windred finished in a share of 19th at 4-under with Blake Collyer another four strokes back at even par and equal 33rd.
James Grierson (T38), Kyle Michel (44) and Nathan Barbieri (45) rounded out the Australians to make it through to Sunday.
Min Woo Lee and Jordan Garner missed the third round cut.
