Gibson, Pampling top-10 at Air Capital Classic

Australia’s Rhein Gibson and Rod Pampling have finished T3 and T6 respectively at the Air Capital Classic in Wichita, Kansas.

Gibson, who came in to this tournament off the back of five missed cuts, shot a superb final round 5-under 65 to move up 12 spots and finish third alongside overnight leader Nicholas Lindheim.

The result takes the 29-year-old in to 20th place on the all-important top-25 moneylist with US$108,000.

Fellow Australian Rod Pampling also went a step closer to securing his PGA Tour future after finishing in a tie for 6th place to move to number eight on the moneylist with US$167,559.

The Air Capital Classic has been a happy hunting ground for the Aussies with Mathew Goggin claiming the title in 2011 and Brad Hughes in 2004.

Rob Oppenheim fired the round of the day with 64 to overtake Andy Winings by a stroke to win his first Tour title.
