In a further celebration of the inter-club competitions, Sunday’s play will also feature finals for the Sharp Cup (Juniors) and Men’s A2 grades.
In total 24 individual match play contests will be played on the day in what promises to be an exciting culmination of the 2012 metropolitan Pennant season.
In the Simpson Cup final, defending champions Tea Tree Gully will be looking to secure their third consecutive (4th overall) senior men’s Pennant flag while Kooyonga, champions last in 2005 & 06, are looking for its 6th flag in 33 years, since winning 5 consecutive titles from 1974-78.
Tea Tree Gully top order player, Greg Blewett, whose season record stands at 4 wins from 6 matches will be doing his upmost to reverse the Round 3 result, when Kooyonga took the points 4 – 3.
In the Women’s A1 final, defending champions Royal Adelaide will be looking to claim its 4th title in 5 years taking their championship tally to 14.
Glenelg however, will be gunning for its 19th title and eager to repeat their 2009 effort against Royal Adelaide when they won the title 3.5 – 1.5.
These two sides last met in the 2010 final when Royal Adelaide claimed victory in a close contest 3 – 2. Despite Glenelg defeating Royal Adelaide 5 – 0 in the first round this season, another close final beckons.
Spectators are welcome at Royal Adelaide throughout the day to support their respective club sides.
