Herbert leads qualifiers at Australian Q-School
The first stage of PGA Tour of Australasia Qualifying School has seen 46 players advancing to the Final Stage.
Stage One was recently held at four courses, Riverside Oaks (NSW), Sandhurst Golf Club, (VIC), Noosa Springs Golf and Spa Resort (QLD) and St Andrews Golf Course (NZL) with players competing in each of the three rounds at their specified venue.

Lucas Herbert was the top-qualifier at Sandhurst, with Alex Hawley securing the number one spot at Riverside Oakes. In Section C, Aaron Wilkin blitzed the field at Noosa Springs with a 10-under total, five strokes ahead of his nearest rival, Nicholas Russell.
Tyler Hodge was the top qualifier in Section D played at St Andrews of Hamilton in New Zealand.
Other notables to progress to the Final Stage included Antonio Murdaca, Andrew Campbell, Ben Clementson, amateurs Jack Williams, Jack Sullivan, Dale Brandt-Richards and Thomas Power Horan.
Final Stage qualifying will be held at Sandhurst Golf Club from 19-22 January 2016. The field will consist of those players who progress from Stage One and those players who are exempt through to Final Stage.
The winner of Qualifying School will gain Tournament Exemption Category 7 (a) for the duration of the 2016 season. This category is the equivalent of winning a Tier 2 Tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia.
Players then ranked 2-5 will be placed in Exemption Category 10. It is envisaged players in this category will gain a start in all State Based Championships,
Players ranked 6-40 will be placed in Exemption Category 13 for the duration of the 2016 season. It is envisaged this category will gain a start in a majority of the state-based Championships as well as several Tier 1 Tournaments.
