Injury forces Woods out of Farmers Insurance Open

Tiger Woods’ misery continues with the 14-time Major winner withdrawing after 11 holes on day one of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

Woods had taken a double bogey at the par four 11th to be two over par when he withdrew.

He advised playing partners Rickie Fowler and Billy Horschel his back was troubling him before being conveyed from the course in a motorised buggy.

It is the second occasion in five events Woods has withdrawn from an event after he pulled out after hitting his tee shot at the ninth hole during last August’s WGC – Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio.
