Ishikawa wins Golf Nippon Series JT Cup

The final event of the Japan Golf Tour season has gone to one of Japan’s favourite sons, with Ryo Ishikawa claiming victory in the Nippon Series JT Cup in Tokyo on Sunday.

Ishikawa finished with a 14-under total of 266 and ran away with it in the end with a five-stroke margin to runners-up Yoshinori Fujimoto and Koumei Oda.

It was Ishikawa’s second victory in Japan since the conclusion of his 14/15 PGA TOUR campaign having claimed the ANA Open a few months ago.

The 24-year old has now won 13 times on the Japan Golf Tour and will be looking to break his duck with an overdue win outside his home country in 2016.

Adam Bland finished at one-under in a tie for 12th place which was enough to secure the South Australian 17th position on the Money List, the best of the Australians.

Brad Kennedy finished the tournament in a tie for 21st place, the same position as he finished the year on the Money List.

Other Australians to feature prominently on the 2015 Money List were Sydney’s Won Joon Lee (35th), Brendan Jones (49th), Scott Strange (51st) and Kurt Barnes (58th).
