Leishman to tackle Tiger in Malaysia
Victorian Marc Leishman will be one of only three Australians contesting the third edition of the PGA Tour sanctioned CIMB Classic at Mines Resort & Golf Club in Malaysia from 25 – 28 October.
36 PGA TOUR players have committed to compete for the US$6.1 million prize purse lead by Tiger Woods, winner of 14 major championships and a two-time FedExCup champion.

Woods, who won three times in 2012 on the PGA TOUR – at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard, the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance and the AT&T National – will be playing the CIMB Classic for the first time in his career.
Leishman won the Travelers Championship midway through the season for his first PGA Tour victory and will be joined in the field by fellow 2012 PGA Tour winners Nick Watney, Jason Dufner, Carl Pettersson, Scott Piercy, Rickie Fowler, John Huh, Kyle Stanley, Bill Haas and Johnson Wagner.
Fellow Aussies, Greg Chalmers and John Senden will be looking for their first wins of 2012 after solid seasons in the US this year.
In addition to the players who gained entry via the FedExCup, Martin Laird, 2010 champion Ben Crane, Sean O’Hair, Ricky Barnes, Cameron Tringale and 2008 Masters champion Trevor Immelman all received sponsors’ exemptions into this year’s field.
