Master of the Amateurs welcomes new sponsor in 2020
2020 marks a turning point for the Australian Master of the Amateurs in a number of ways.
Firstly, the tournament will partner with Victoria Golf Club for the next two years as the championship’s venue following a number of successful years at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club.

Secondly, more commercial sponsors are joining the team in an environment where many tournaments in this country, especially amateur events, cannot get off the ground or are dropping off the tournament calendar.
Last Thursday evening at Victoria Golf Club, MOTA tournament director and founder Peter Mann announced that Greenstone Vineyard had committed to the event, bringing the level of sponsorship for this event to a level not seen in this country.
“We welcome Simon Lee and his team from Greenstone Vineyards to the tournament,” said Mann. “It’s a pleasure to have them join us with their wonderful selection of products, which I’m sure will bring another level of corporate style to our event.”
“It’s a combination of having a strong professional team working towards making our tournament the best, attracting the world’s best amateurs, both male and female, who want to play our tournament and the fact that we play the event at one of the world’s best layouts and for the first time at Victoria Golf Club. It will be exciting.”
The event sees 48 elite female golfers and 78 elite male competing over four rounds of stroke play with the men’s championship the highest ranked Category A event in Australia, and is ranked by the R&A as the highest ranked Amateur Championship in Australia.
The Women’s Australian Master of the Amateurs is also ranked by the R&A as the highest ranked Amateur Championship in Australia.
The 2020 Men’s & Women’s Australian Master of the Amateurs Championships will be hosted at The Victoria Golf Club, 7th – 10th January 2020.
