Nisbet to make pro debut at WA Open
Daniel Nisbet will make his professional debut at the John Hughes Geeley / Nexus Risk Services WA Open Championship fresh from winning his venue at first stage of PGA TOUR Qualifying School.
Arriving in Perth this morning from the United States, Nisbet will tee it up in his first Professional tournament after a stellar amateur career and at just 22-years of age is ready for the challenge.

“I have played a few tournaments in Australia before, I have played Aussie Open a few times but it’s definitely as step up now that there is obviously a lot more money involved,” said Nisbet who in 2012 alone has won the US Players Amateur Championship, Lake Macquarie Amateur Championship and represented Australia at the World Amateur Championship.
“I just want to take a few of the things I had going right for me last week and bring them into this week and put a good number on the board,” he added.
Playing some outstanding golf last week Nisbet won the first stage of PGA TOUR Qualifying School by an astounding 12 shots.
“The week was good, I have played Lantana Golf Club a few times so I knew the course, I was very happy with my game and things went pretty well for me.”
“The goal was just to make the top 18 to go through to the next stage, obviously I knew the better position I got then the more chance that I was going to get my first preference for second stage.”
“I was hoping to get TPC Craig Ranch and I had a pretty good finish to get that one so it worked out well.”
“It has been my dream for a long time, PGA TOUR is where I want to play for the rest of my career, hopefully it will work out, but I just want to stay grounded and put my best foot forward.”
Ryan Peake will also make his Professional debut at the John Hughes Geely / Nexus Risk Services WA Open Championship after pre-qualifying for the tournament on Monday.
The tournament is set to get underway from 6.30am tomorrow with the champion to be crowned on Sunday afternoon. Entry into the John Hughes Geely / Nexus Risk Services WA Open Championship is free.
