Norman joins field for new Hawaiian event
World Golf Hall of Fame member and two-time major championship winner, Greg Norman, will join Fred Couples, Tom Lehman and Bernhard Langer in heading up a star-studded field for the new Pacific Links Hawaii Championship this month.
The 54-hole stroke-play event will take place at the Kapolei Golf Course, west of Pearl Harbour on Oahu, and will feature a $1.8 million purse and a field of 81 Champions Tour professionals.

Norman, fresh off a rare playing appearance at the Omega European Masters in Switzerland where he missed the cut, is looking forward to returning to Hawaii in a playing capacity.
“Over the years, Hawaii has served as a mid-point for my commutes between the United States and Australia,” he said.
“It is my pleasure to now have a direct involvement in the development of the Pacific Links Hawaii Championship, which will afford me the opportunity to spend more time in Hawaii on a consistent basis.”
The launch of the Pacific Links Hawaii Championship increases the total number of official Champions Tour events this season to 24.
The tournament will be held from Sept. 10-16, 2012.
