Queensland Open returns to Brookwater
One of Queensland’s highest-rated courses will attract some of our best professionals to test it out again in 2014 following reports the Isuzu Queensland Open would again be played at Brookwater Golf and Country Club in August.
The coveted T.B. Hunter Cup boasts such luminaries as the late great Norman von Nida as well as major champions Greg Norman and Ian Baker-Finch and stalwarts like Stuart Appleby and Peter Senior among its winners over the years.

And the event has much of its old status restored after being placed back on the rota of the PGA Tour of Australasia in 2013.
This year’s Queensland Open will be played from August 28-31 and chair of Golf Queensland Peter Castrisos said the event was looking for even more growth on and off the course in coming months.
“In 2013 we attracted more entries than we anticipated with 320 golfers vying for a spot in the field of only 120,” Castrisos said.
“We are proud of those 2013 results as the event attracted more than 5,000 spectators.”
“It proved the Queensland Open could gain significant media exposure for not only golf but for the Ipswich region.”
The 2014 Isuzu Queensland Open will also carry Official World Golf Ranking points.
The 72-hole championship will be looking to attract an even stronger field in 2014 with an all-star line-up of PGA professionals, including several household names, as well as some of Australia’s leading amateurs looking to test their skills against the touring professionals.
