Queensland Open tees off at Brookwater
As Queensland again basks in the afterglow of one of its home grown heroes winning one of golf’s major titles, the state will play host this week to the Isuzu Queensland Open Championship at the Brookwater Golf & Country Club in Springfield, outside Brisbane.
Defending champion Andrew Dodt is not returning to the Open this year but nonetheless, an exciting field will gather at the testing layout designed by another of Queensland’s favourite sons, Greg Norman.

New Zealand Open champion Jordan Zunic will make his first appearance at Brookwater in a year spent soaking up the opportunities and experience afforded to him following his win earlier this year, with numerous starts in Japan and Asia.
Zunic was also only a few strokes shy of claiming a place at the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay at the Qualifying event in Japan in June.
Last year’s Fiji International winner Steven Jeffress will also be attempting to win the title in his home state but both have their work cut out against a field chock full of youth and experience including Brad Kennedy, Jake Higginbottom, Matthew Griffin, Josh Younger, Anthony Brown, Lincoln Tighe, Stephen Leaney, Michael Sim and Nathan Green.
Brookwater will play host for the third consecutive year before the championship moves to the Brisbane Golf Club in 2016 and the glorious weather in South-East Queensland of late is sure to have the golf course in superb condition.
The tournament runs from August 20-23 with a purse of $110,000 and Official World Golf Ranking Points on offer.
