Ruffels’ fast finish nets 6th place in Jamaica

A superb birdie-eagle finish at the BMW Jamaica Classic saw US-based Aussie Ryan Ruffels secure his third top-10 finish on the PGA TOUR-Latino America this year.

Ruffels, the lone Australian in the field, fired a final round 5-under 67 around the Cinnamon Hill Golf Club in Montego Bay to claim a share of 6th place and move into 4th place on the Order Of Merit with total prize money of US$39,029.

The top-5 at the end of the season will be awarded an all-important Tour card.

The 21-year-old, who plays out of Florida, has enjoyed a breakout year with his first two starts of the year yielding two runner-up placings at the Molino Cañuelas Championship and Buenaventura Classic.

Ruffels finished five shots adrift of American Evan Harmeling, who finished the day at 21-under to win by a stroke from Augusto Nunez.
