Tiger, McIlroy, Spieth and JT named for The Match

Tiger Woods hasn’t played in a professional tournament since his emotional farewell at the Open Championship in July.

However the 15-time major winner will return to the fairways next month in the latest iteration of “The Match” alongside World No. 1 Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.

As first reported by The Fried Egg and confirmed this week, the made for TV event will take place on December 10 at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida and be played under lights across just 12 holes.

While McIlroy and Thomas played alongside Woods and Justin Rose in the Payne’s Valley Cup in 2020, it will mark their first time playing in “The Match”, which debuted back in 2018 with Phil Mickelson defeating Tiger Woods at the Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas.

Woods later teamed up with NFL legend Peyton Manning to defeat Mickelson and Tom Brady in 2020.
