ALPG announce 2014 Tour schedule

ALPG’s Executive Director Karen Lunn has announced an exciting schedule for the 2014 ALPG Tour season starting in January, featuring several new and returning pro-am events and a resurgent Volvik Ladies Masters on the Gold Coast.

Highlights events will include the ISPS Handa New Zealand Women’s Open at Clearwater Golf Club in Christchurch from 31 Jan – 2 Feb, where current world number five Lydia Ko has confirmed she will defend her national title, this time as a professional.

The 25th consecutive staging of the Volvik RACV Ladies Masters will take place from the 6-9 February and will see Karrie Webb aiming for an unprecedented 9th title.

The co-sanctioned event with the LET has received a welcome prizemoney boost and will again be played over 72 holes after being reduced to 54 last year.

The ALPG’s pinnacle event – the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open – will be played from 13-16 February at the Victoria Golf Club in Melbourne and is once again tri-sanctioned with the LPGA and LET, guaranteeing a world class field for the US1.2million event.

“I would sincerely like to thank Dr Handa and everyone at ISPS Handa for their continued support of the ALPG Tour, particularly as title sponsors of both the ISPS Women’s Australian Open and the ISPS Handa New Zealand Women’s Open.” Lunn said.

“We are also thrilled to welcome back Volvik and RACV as the title sponsors of the Volvik/RACV Ladies Masters. Without the support of our loyal sponsors, these events simply wouldn’t exist and continue to grow.”
