Jon Rahm became the first Spanish Masters champion since Seve Ballesteros and José María Olazábal when he won at Augusta in 2023, four years after lifting the U.S. Open trophy at Torrey Pines. Born in Barrika in the Basque Country, Rahm came through Arizona State, where he was the world’s top-ranked amateur for a record 60 weeks.
His move to LIV Golf at the end of 2023 was the highest-profile defection of the post-PIF era, and brought wins in Mayakoba and Hong Kong in his first LIV season. He has remained part of the European Ryder Cup team and is expected to play his fourth in 2027.
He is married to Kelley Cahill, a fellow Arizona State track athlete, with whom he has three children. They live full-time in Scottsdale.
