Ludvig Åberg turned professional in June 2023 directly from Texas Tech University and was on Europe’s Ryder Cup team three months later, helping deliver a 16.5-11.5 win at Marco Simone. His debut major at the 2024 Masters ended in a runner-up to Scottie Scheffler — the closest a player has come to winning Augusta on first appearance since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979.
The Swede plays a long, modern, low-spin power game and arrives at majors with one of the highest strokes-gained-tee-to-green averages on Tour. He has cited Henrik Stenson and Annika Sörenstam as the Swedish predecessors he most studied as a junior, both fellow products of the Swedish golf federation’s national program.
Åberg splits his year between his hometown of Eslöv in southern Sweden and Plano, Texas, where his agency is based.
